Through the late 1800s, Raccoon Creek was a water route that was naturally deep enough to transport wood and farm produce to outside areas. While the creek was used for transportation, the early Swedish settlers drank beer with low ABV as a safe alternative to water. The color of our Brown Ale is reminiscent of the creek that was so vital to our area's development.

Drawing inspiration from English-style brown ales and porters, Creekwater of SBC has roasted malt, caramel-like and chocolate-like characteristics. Its flavor sits between these two styles, but is slightly more bitter than both.

  • Many foods add richness to our Creekwater Brown Ale, while balancing acidity and sweetness imparted by the hops and malts. It pairs well with caramelly flavored and hearty foods – that are frequently cooked on the grill – like grilled salmon, roasted pork, and smoked sausage as well as firm or hard cheeses such as aged gouda. On the dessert menu, flavored light, fluffy and moist cakes, such as almond or maple walnut cake, can balance the medium intensity of this craft beer.

  • Best served in a Nonic pint: This type of glassware bulges out at the top, which improves grip, adds strength and reduces chipping

    Ideal serving temperature: 50-55°F
