4 MORTICIANS

Origin:

Not long after our Third State Brewing location opened it's doors in 2015, a local funeral director from Page Funeral Home in Burlington began stopping in for a pint. It wasn’t long before he started bringing friends—another director from Page, as well as colleagues from Bradley Funeral Home in Marlton and Perinchief Chapels in Mount Holly. Despite their serious profession, this crew brought nothing but laughter, stories, and an appreciation for the finer things in life—especially a well-made beer.

They quickly became part of the brewery’s extended family, known affectionately around here as The Morticians. When we finished brewing a particularly bold and complex Belgian Quad, the name practically chose itself. With a nod to the beer’s “killer” strength and the four funeral professionals who helped give it life, 4 Morticians was born.

This rich, mahogany-hued Belgian Quad is built for depth. It delivers layers of dark fruit, fig, date, and plum, balanced by toffee, spice, and warming alcohol. Fermented with classic Belgian yeast for complexity and a dry finish, 4 Morticians is a great beer for cold nights, rich meals, or good conversation.

Food Pairing:

Four Morticians demands bold flavors and stands up to rich, savory dishes. Its dark sweetness complements roasted meats and aged cheeses, while its fruit and spice notes elevate decadent desserts.
