THIRD STATE GOLDEN STRONG

Origins

Brewed as a bold interpretation of Belgian tradition, our Third State Golden Strong celebrates our commitment to crafting beers that stay true to style. This expressive, high-gravity European ale is part of the Third State Series under Swedesboro Brewing Co., carrying forward the spirit of craftsmanship and innovation.

Originally introduced as Brewer's Select 14, the second BS release at our Burlington City location, where it quickly stood out for its elegance, complexity, and classic Belgian character. Its overwhelming reception earned it a place in our permanent lineup under the Third State Series name.

The style itself was Belgium’s answer to the pale lagers that rose in popularity across Europe in the early 20th century. But rather than imitate, Belgian brewers innovated—crafting a strong, fruity, and dry ale with a deceptively light body and lively carbonation. Brewed with pale malt, a touch of sugar, and expressive Belgian yeast, our Golden Strong offers aromatic complexity with surprising drinkability.

At 8.5% ABV, our Third State Golden Strong showcases bright esters of pear and apple, subtle hints of yeast-driven spice, and a crisp, dry finish that makes it as elegant as it is powerful.
