Origins
Our original Third State Golden Strong quickly earned a permanent place in the lineup for its elegance, complexity, and true-to-style Belgian character. This special release takes that foundation a step further, resting the beer in Chardonnay wine barrels to add depth and refinement.
The time in oak imparts subtle tannins, soft vanilla notes, and a delicate vinous quality that intertwines beautifully with the beer’s bright esters of pear and apple, gentle yeast-driven spice, and crisp, dry finish. The result is a layered, contemplative version of our Golden Strong, familiar at its core, yet elevated by the influence of the barrel.
At 8.5% ABV, it remains as refined and drinkable as the original, now with added richness that rewards slow sipping.

The Chardonnay barrel influence makes this release a natural partner for seafood, roasted poultry, and creamy cheeses, while still echoing the versatility of the original.
